Lakeview - named for its close proximity to Lake Pontchartrain. This community is a moderately affluent neighborhood filled with frame cottages and brink ranch-style homes and over the past several years there has been a insurgence of over-sized New Construction Homes that are on the rise. This section of the city is marked as being bound by Lakeshore Drive, Orleans Avenue, City Park Avenue, and the Jefferson Parish line. Within this area are four separate neighborhoods: Lakeview, Lakewood, West End, and Navarre. Lakeview’s biggest and most treasured attraction is beautiful City Park. City Park is one of the oldest urban parks in the country, and it houses everything from bike paths and fishing lagoons, to an amusement park and festival grounds.

Lake Shore / Lake Vista - Lakeshore and Lake Vista, which are adjacent to City Park and the Lake Pontchartrain shoreline, are two subdivisions that flourished out of the lakefront reclamation. Residences in the area range from the comfortable to the luxurious, comprising one of the wealthiest residential areas of New Orleans (Census 2000).
